10 years ago, on the 29th of June, Apple was launching the IPhone, one of the most popular smartphones in the world. To celebrate, Brian Merchant wrote a book that was published on June 22nd entitled “The One Device: The Secret History of the iPhone”, which takes us back to the development stages of the IPhone and the way in which it conquered the world in it’s ten years of existence.
Unsurprisingly Apple has sold 1.2 billion units in the past decade, with an estimated sales value of around 700 billion dollars in total.
Numbers aside, we can all agree that our phones have now become an extension of our body. Odds are one Facebook page generates more content in a month than some magazines used to in the entire year some 20 years ago. Most of this content comes in the form of images captured by our mobile devices.
That is how Iphoneography was born. We capture and share more and more information every day, and the IPhone has been the most successful device in the market so far due to it’s ease of use, good quality optics paired with amazing software.

It is true that not all cameras are created equal, and not all of us are pro photographers, but with a little practice we can all take good pictures. So get out there and start snapping.
